Restaurants from all over New England and as far away as Seattle will come to Westport to compete in this popular food festival, according to a release from Chowdafest.

More than 10,000 foodies are expected; they will enjoy unlimited sampling and vote on their favorite chowder, soup and bisque.

Proceeds from the event will go toward feeding the hungry. The 2015 Chowdafest raised enough to fund more than 400,000 meals for the hungry, the release said.

Forty award-winning chefs and restaurants representing every New England state will compete for the title of best chowder, soup and bisque in New England.

Attendees will be the judge; they will get a spoon, ballot and pencil to rate everything they try on a scale of 7.0 to 10.5.

The restaurants with the best average rating win their respective category.

The four categories to judge are the following: Classic New England Clam Chowder, Traditional Chowders (Manhattan/Rhode Island's), Creative Chowder and Soup/Bisque.

Additionally, guests can enjoy the Italian-themed section called "Ciao"dafest and sample artisan breads and sauces.

They can also sample salsas and chips in the ChowdaMex section; indulge in farm fresh ice cream, yogurt and cheese in the Farm to Fork section; and quench their thirst in the Beverage Bog.

There will also be a "Little Necks" activity area for kids where they get to decorate free chef hats and more.

Tickets are $15 and $5 for kids ages 6  - 12.
