Cyclists Pedal In Downtown Danbury Race On Sunday

DANBURY, Conn. -- Professional and recreational cyclists will pedal through downtown Sunday in the first Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium.

There will be six races, plus a fun ride and celebrity ride. Races begin at 8:30 a.m. in downtown Danbury.

The race is put on by WHEELpassion, a Danbury nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of our youth and the health of the community.

The race course will include parts of Main Street, White Street, Delay Street and Liberty Street. The course distance is six-tenths of a mile, or 1-kilometer.

The professional women cyclists will race at 1:50 p.m., and the men professionals begin at 3:15 p.m. The day begins with a men’s category 5 race at 8:30 a.m. The Kids Bike For Fun and Celebrity Ride begin at 1:20 p.m.
