Host Families Bridge The Gap With International Students

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- For students who decide to study abroad, a host family is a vital part of the international experience. That's why Ivy International strives to ensure that all their students visiting the United States receive the best care possible.

While a strong educational foundation is important when studying abroad, learning about an unfamiliar culture from community members is just as significant. Trying new food, discovering popular culture and exploring local art are just a few things international students should be given the opportunity to uncover. That's where the right host family comes in.

Finding wonderful host families is a rigorous process, but Ivy International locates those who are willing to serve the global community and help eager-to-learn students adjust. Whether they are working with students on their English or immersing them in American culture, the best host families are those who are ready and willing to be there for their students.

For their part, Ivy International guides their students from the first day they arrive, beginning with an orientation which highlights all the opportunities and advantages that await them. Ivy International also offers academic and parental support throughout each student's stay. They devote time and resources to make sure each student is comfortable and secure, provide transportation to and from the airport, and even offer medical insurance and counseling to any students in need.

Ivy International is currently looking for families in Stamford or Danbury who are willing to host students during a 10-week academic period. Along with a bedroom and two to three meals per day, Ivy International is seeking families who can provide transportation to and from school.
