The current exhibit, which changes three times a year, is on the museum's main level. "Springs, Sprockets and Pulleys" features several displays packed with intricate, yet simple, moving parts.
There are also areas where visitors can get physical -- even shooting baskets. There's also an energy exhibit, and a MoonBase Discovery exhibit, as well as a planetarium.
Liz and Jerry Hendricks of Wilton were at the museum recently with children Tommy, 5, and Emma, 6, partially because of the frigid temperatures outside.
"We canceled ski plans," said Liz. "We decided it was a good day for indoor activity. My son is learning about the planets at school, so this was a good other option.
"It's a great place - it's fun for the kids, a quick drive, and a great location. And the kids are having a great time."
