July will include the museum's grand opening of the Mega Making exhibit experience, which blends learning and play in a hands-on manner that celebrates the creativity of children. Mega Making is organized into four main areas: Art, Textiles, Construction/Woodworking and Think Tank. Using real materials and real tools, young makers can explore art, textiles, construction and woodworking. There’s something for all ages as children and adults can enjoy a unique experience together! The Mega Making exhibit was created by Stepping Stones and made possible through support from First County Bank.
The summer fun at Stepping Stones doesn’t stop with Mega Making. Stepping Stones is pleased to offer other “MEGA-nificent” attractions as well. Serving as a companion to Mega Making, the museum is introducing an exciting new “MEGA Summer” theme each week with related indoor AND outdoor activities that will keep children active and learning all summer long.
In addition to the “MEGA Summer” offerings, Stepping Stones also invites you to experience the museum’s award-winning Around the World program, which focuses on the South Asian country of India during July and August. Discover this ancient culture and immerse yourself in art, dance and literature from one of the world’s most popular countries.
With the Mega Making exhibit, special theme weeks, the Around the World programming and the museum’s recurring programs, children are sure to have a “MEGA-blast” at Stepping Stones during its MEGA Summer.
