With performances on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, at 8 p.m., audiences still have a chance to see Broadway veteran Nicholas Barasch, who is appearing courtesy of Actor's Equity. Barasch has appeared in the Broadway productions of "West Side Story" and "The Mystery of Edwin Drood."
Also on stage are Peter Green, Larry Reina, Betsy Simpson, Lisa Spielman, Julie Thaxter-Gourlay and Danielle Valdes, talented voices whose experience includes performing on traveling tours of Broadway shows, backgrounds in professional training and depth of experience in community theater.
The play, based on Jacques Brel’s lyrics and commentary, and translated into English by Eric Blau and Mort Shuman, will be performed at the Darien Arts Center’s Weatherstone Studio.
The play is presented in a cabaret style with audiences sitting at café tables with small plates of food served during the show.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling the box office at 655-5414 and leaving a message or by going to the Darien Arts Center website.
Seating is at unreserved cabaret tables, so audience members are encouraged to arrive early to get their preferred seating.
