Actors Needed for Darien Musical

STAMFORD, Conn. — Director Lynne Colatrella is looking for actors to sing and be funny in a Darien Arts Center production of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.” Auditions are next week, and the play opens in October, a press release said.

The show calls for performers in their 20s to 40s who also have movement skills. Each tryout should come prepared with 16-bar cuts of an uptempo song and a ballad. All voice ranges are needed, especially low A to A flat, low F sharp to F flat and lyric baritones.

Colatrella is the co-founder of Curtain Call in Stamford where she has directed and produced such shows as “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” “Cindarella” and “A Chorus Line.” She also directed “West Side Story” at Westhill High School and “Sweet Charity” at the Wilton Playshop . Howard Kilik is the musical director of "I Love You."

Auditions will be Tuesday, Aug. 23, and Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m., with callbacks held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Darien Art Center’s Weatherstone Studio, 2 Renshaw Road, behind Darien Town Hall. Performances are Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. at the Weatherstone Studio. Call (203) 655-8683 for tickets and details.
