The Knitting Group ladies get together every Monday, have a cup of tea and a sweet, and knit while engaging in conversation. As a result of these gatherings, many clients of Darien's Person-to-Person have been the beneficiaries of the ladies’ talents and industry.
According to Engage Life Associate Beth Blake, the ladies have donated hundreds of knitted items to Person-to-Person, including cradle blankets, sweaters, mittens, hats, receiving blankets and more.
“Atria residents thrive and participate in activities where they know that their contributions are valued, and enjoy access to opportunities and support that help them keep making a positive difference in our world,” Blake said.
“We are delighted to receive these wonderful gifts for our clients from the Knitting Group,” says P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher. “The pieces are appreciated not only for their functionality but also because they represent the care and compassion that these ladies have for others.”
