The 47th annual Darien Antiques Show is set for a preview party from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 7, and for regular business from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8, and 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9.

The elegant preview party promises to feature live jazz, hors d’oeuvres and fine wines. Proceeds from the party will primarily benefit Liberation Programs.

Liberation Programs is one of Fairfield County’s leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for substance abuse—a problem that puts Connecticut in the top 10 states in terms of prevalence and costs Connecticut more than $621 million a year in criminal prosecution, emergency room care, and efforts to stem the flow of drugs, a press release said.

"To address this, Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two residential treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, special services for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS, and extensive education, prevention and wellness efforts in the community," a press release said. "The agency’s mission is to empower people and their families to be free of the disease of addiction by providing targeted solutions that restore lives and strengthen our community. This mission - of hope and renewal - is extended to over 2,000 families a year."

The Antique Show is run through volunteers and the First Congregational Church uses all proceeds from the show to assist with the support of the Outreach mission.

"This is in keeping with the church’s ongoing commitment to support those in need in the surrounding community," a press release said.

Sponsors of the show include William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, Darien Rowayton Bank and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens.

Tickets to the preview party are $45 in advance or $50 at the door and include entrance to the show over the weekend. Show tickets are $10 at the door and $8 for seniors. For more details, residents can visit the Darien Antiques Show website.
