Darien's JoyRide Cycling Studio and Dynamic Athletics are holding an outdoor circuit style fundraising class to benefit Tails of Courage.

JoyRide instructor Alison Vitolo and Dynamic Athletics head coach Bill Gallagher will run mini 30-minute circuit style workouts, as well as cycle classes on JoyRide bikes from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Participants can engage in these fun and challenging workouts for half an hour or more.

The minimum requested donation is $40 per person, which will be collected on site.

Tails of Courage is a national animal rescue organization with a no-kill shelter in Danbury. Founded in 2009 by a 9/11 survivor, TOC is one of the few animal rescues in the State of Connecticut that allows (and even encourages) children under the age of 18 to volunteer with their shelter dogs and cats. The organization also has an active foster/adoption program, which is how Dynamic Athletics and JoyRide became involved.

“I became aware of Tails of Courage when a client and foster, Katherine Snedaker, introduced us to the program by way of an adorable puppy. My dog Bailey is one of their rescue dogs and I could not be happier that I was able to give her a home,” said Bill Gallagher. "Knowing that JoyRide also has an affinity for this organization, it made sense to give back to TOC as a team.”

Added instructor Alison Vitolo, “I have fostered countless TOC dogs and have adopted four of them. Being able to help save them from an otherwise sad outcome, has been one of the joys of my life — in addition to JoyRide.”

Kristan Exner, founder of Tails of Courage, said "JoyRide and Dynamic Athletics are part of the TOC family, both two legged and four.”

Tails of Courage puppies and kittens that are available for adoption will be on site with adult and youth volunteers. Pet Valu will offer puppy/pet starter packs, as well as raffle items. Runner’s Roost, which will soon be moving to Goodwives, will be on site with raffle and special sale items, with a portion of the proceeds going toward Tails of Courage. In addition, Chocolate Works will offer raffle items.

It will be held in the parking lot of Goodwives Shopping Center, 25 Old Kings Highway North, Darien (in front of Pet Valu). In the event of rain, the event will be moved indoors to JoyRide Cycling Studio.
