"The P2P toy store at the holidays is critical because the toys and board games we distribute are going to those of our clients who have the least and who are helped throughout the year with basic necessities," Person-to-Person Executive Director Ceci Maher said.

This year, Person-to-Person is expanding the capacity of its toy store by about 24 percent to meet increased need. It will serve 650 families, with 1,600 children. Members of the Person-to-Person Youth Group and Kid-to-Kid are organizing drives around the community, including at local elementary schools, St. Thomas More Church, King School in Stamford and Barnes & Noble in Norwalk. The goal is to collect 500 new board games.

"We are delighted to join efforts with Person-to-Person to give back to our community in a way that touches families this holiday season," said Alice Marks, proprietor of Learning Express.

"We hope to provide every parent with a board game, promoting fun time spent together as a family during the holidays and all year round," said Michelle Buscher, a coordinator for Person-to-Person's toy store.

The toy store will be open Dec. 13 to 15. For more information, contact Person-to-Person at 203-655-0048 or at its website
