The rain date will be July 6 for the fireworks show.

Parking passes, which are $25, are required to park on the high school grounds, and are a donation to the firefighters’ foundation.

“Darien’s volunteer firefighters are our neighbors, friends and people who work in our community. They have their own careers and families yet make time and put their lives on the line to protect us from danger at all hours of the day or night,” said Kesti Aysseh, board president of the foundation.

This marks the fourth year that the Town of Darien Firefighters’ Foundation has hosted Darien’s hometown fireworks celebration as a fundraising event.

Food vendors will include the addition of food trucks from Darien’s Bodega Taco Bar and LobsterCraft. Other vendors providing fare include Uncle’s Deli, Burgers, Shakes & Fries, Melt Mobile, Chunky Pam’s Sweet Shoppe, Gofer Ice Cream, and Non-stop Donut shop.

All food vendors give 10 percent of their proceeds to the firefighters’ foundation.

The Darien Fireworks Band, under the direction of Jane Minnus, will provide patriotic musical entertainment and perform then ational anthem.

Parking passes are on sale at www.darienfirefighter.org.

A printed receipt must be displayed in the windshield of vehicles for admittance to high school grounds. Limited parking passes will also be available for sale in the first selectman’s office at Darien Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. For those not choosing to donate to the Firefighters’ Foundation, free off-campus parking is also available. The fireworks display is free and walk-ins to high school grounds are given free admission.

The fireworks will take place on the grounds of Darien High School at 80 High School Lane and will commence at sunset (about 9 p.m.), with entrance to the grounds starting at 6 p.m.
