DARIEN, Conn. Hear cartoonist Brian Walker will discuss the history of the popular art form at the annual meeting and lecture of the Darien Historical Society on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Walker is both a professional cartoonist and cartoon scholar. He is a former director of the Museum of Cartoon Art, where he worked from 1974 to 1992. He has also been part of the creative team that produces the comic strips "Beetle Bailey" and "Hi and Lois." He has written, edited or contributed to 35 books on cartoon art, served as the curator for 70 cartoon exhibits and is the current chairman of the Connecticut chapter of the National Cartoonists Society . His most recent work is "The Comics The Complete Collection." The Historical Society's meeting will follow the lecture, and will feature the election of new board members and a reception.
