NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Southwest Regional Mental Health Board, in conjunction with the National Alliance for Mental Illness, is bringing "Community Conversations on Mental Health" to New Canaan.
This program is a national initiative launched after the shooting deaths of 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.
The New Canaan and Darien Community Conversations will be a three-part series on Jan. 24, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Canaan YMCA. Lunch will be provided.
The conversations are in groups of six to 12 people and will be led by a facilitator. They are designed to help your group create local change as recommendations will be presented to local decision-makers for action.

Plan to attend all three sessions so that your conversations can grow and your group can create solutions to make the community a healthier place.
