DARIEN, Conn. -- Parents looking for help navigating their new roles with their tweens are invited to the "Tween Talk" discussion for parents in October at the Darien Library.
The monthly discussion group's next session runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 3. The group, for parents with children ages 9 to 12, is led by Moira Rizzo and will discuss a variety of topics including gender, self-esteem, technology, managing sports, and sexuality, according to a news release from the library.
Parents are urged to read resources such as "Parenting Preteens with a Purpose: Navigating The Middle School Years" by Kate Thomsen, and "Raising a Digital Child: A Digital Citzenship Handbook for Parents" by Mike Ribble. The resource material can be provided by the library.
The series will continue on Nov. 7, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, March 6, and April 3.
