McDonough brings The Pi Group, located in both Darien and NYC,  fresh insights in transforming business performance from prior executive roles leading the marketing organizations at Diageo, Procter & Gamble, Gillette, and Black & Decker.

Most recently he served as president, chief marketing and innovation officer for Diageo, where he was tasked with overseeing the North America spirits industry’s largest portfolio of top selling brands. In this role, he transformed and built the marketing and product development organizations with new capabilities, a more focused strategic outlook, and a business plan that delivered accelerated growth and positioned Diageo as the industry leader in product innovation.

The Darien resident, an alumnus of Cornell University as well as the Wharton School of Business, is also an avid mountaineer.

In the Fall of 2015, McDonough spent a month climbing in the Himalayan Mountains spending time with renowned explorers Eric Larsen and Ryan Waters. And last summer, he spent two weeks in Tanzania climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain and one of the famed Seven Peaks of the World.
