The opening reception for this ongoing display is set for Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The show runs through Feb. 6.

Armstrong is showcasing multiple series of images depicting animals, human portraits and landscapes from six distinct regions including East Asia, the Himalayas of Nepal and India, Patagonia, the Galapagos Islands, Coastal South America and Southwestern Africa.

The exhibit also spotlights unique artistic and cultural souvenirs he has collected over his decades around the globe.

Armstrong’s foreign experience includes working for the United Nations Children’s Fund Namibia, Save the Children Nepal and teaching English as a foreign language in Japan and Latin America.

These experiences have allowed him to photograph some of the most exotic and remote places in the world.

Original photographs and digital files will be on sale following the reception to benefit the Darien Nature Center and Save the Children U.S.A.

The Center is located at 120 Brookside Road. It is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
