Reed William Schwandt died the morning of June 10.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Schwandt, and three children: Isabelle, 10; Luke, 7; and Emmerson, 5. Many of his friends and co-workers want to help the family in this difficult time, according to a GoFundMe established to help them.

"Reed was a brilliant, driven, and hilarious young man who will be deeply and profoundly missed," the website says.

"He enjoyed an accomplished career as an investment portfolio manager while still maintaining his enthusiasm for playing basketball, coaching youth sports, mentoring young professionals, volunteering in the community, supporting the Noroton Presbyterian Church and attending Green Bay Packers games."

Donations in his memory can be made to the Schwandt Family Fund to support the future education of his three children.

"Reed brought joy to work every day. My thoughts and prayers are with his family," one supporter said.

As of Thursday afternoon, a total of $37,095 of the $200,000 goal had been raised from 79 people in less than a day.

"Reed was a terrific colleague who will be deeply missed," a co-worker said.

"It's hard to imagine a world without Reed. Ongoing prayers for Renee and her kids," said another post at the GoFundMe.

Schwandt was born Sept. 11, 1976, in Minneapolis. He attended Armstrong High School, graduating in 1994. He then enrolled at Indiana University, where he graduated with honors in applied math/finance and met his wife Renee. At the age of 21, he began his career in finance at Morgan Stanley in New York City. Later he attended The Wharton School, where he earned an MBA, also with honors.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien.
