Darien Rowayton Bank Hosts Three Events Saturday

DARIEN, Conn. — The Darien Rowayton Bank will be doing its part to help save the community from identity theft, hunger and breast cancer this Saturday. The bank will be hosting a document-shredding service, a mobile breast cancer screening and collecting food for Person-to-Person.

City Confidential will be on site in the bank's parking lot for a free document shredding. Any confidential documents that you want to get rid of will be shredded while you wait and watch.

Stamford Hospital's Mobile Wellness Bus will also be on site to perform digital mammograms. Insurance is accepted, but no-cost mammograms will be covered by the Breast Cancer Alliance and the Susan G. Komen Grant for uninsured and low-income women. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will also be accepted. Call 203-276-2602 or 203-223-4181 to make an appointment.

While you're there, you can also drop off a nonperishable food item, which will be donated to Person-to-Person. The bank will be collecting food throughout May.

"This is such a great way to help the increased number of our neighbors in need who come to us daily for food," said Person-to-Person Director of Volunteers Janet King. "Please stop in the bank and give what you can."

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Darien Rowayton Bank, located at 1001 Post Road.
