The Darien Chamber Going for Green campaign was a great success. We are excited about the enthusiasm we had from businesses, the 20 Darien High School graphic arts students who submitted posters, the art teacher, the Darien Environmental Group , Beautification Commission, Green Drinks of Darien/New Canaan, the Choose to Reuse group, the 250 volunteers that helped with the townwide beautification and cleanup and Stop & Shop for donating reusable bags filled with a water bottle, breakfast bar, fruit and trash bag for each cleanup volunteer as well as hundreds of bulbs to plant. All 20 poster entries may be seen in the Corbin Drive side windows of Fredric's.
Awards were presented during the Business After Hours at Kitchens by Deane. The Green Business Award went to Fabricare Cleaners. The Going for Green Poster contest awards went to winner Chelsea Grant and runner-up Kaitlin Farren .
Special thanks go to "Winner Bags" donators: Darien Doughnut, Darien Rowayton Bank, Darien Bank & Trust, Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens and Kitchens by Deane.
