His exhibit runs Oct. 1 through 31 at the Geary Gallery, 576 Boston Post Road, Darien.

Arguimbau is a nationally acclaimed, classical-realist painter who has specialized in the Flemish Technique (popular during 1450-1650) for more than 40 years. He first learned to paint at age 8 when he spent hours watching his father, Vincent Arguimbau, a portrait painter in Darien. His formal art training included studies in Rome and New York City.

During the past 40 years, Arguimbau has perfected his techniques and is now assembling his book, “The Invention of Oil Painting from the Renaissance to the Present.” He also teaches painting courses at his Greenwich studio.

All are welcome to visit the gallery, and admission is free. Geary Gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at 576 Boston Post Road.
