“The majority of our clients come to us for assistance with payments for security deposits or utility bills, or for groceries to prepare three meals a day for a full week,” said Diane Reese Tucker, director of development at Person-to-Person.

Tucker said more than 90 percent of all donations directly benefit P2P clients.

“Donations to general operations help fund the dedicated staff of caseworkers who, at our Darien and Norwalk offices, combine extensive professional experience and collaborative energy to meet the immediate and long-term needs of our clients,” she said.

Newman’s Own Foundation supports a variety of organizations across the world.

"On behalf the families and individuals who come to Person-to-Person for a helping hand, we are most grateful to be one of the organizations supported by Newman’s Own Foundation," Tucker said.

Person-to-Person was established in 1968 to provide low-income individuals and families living in lower Fairfield County with basic emergency services.

A volunteer-driven agency, Person-to-Person is committed to helping clients achieve self-sufficiency through practical help, advocacy, education and problem-solving initiatives.

Programs include Emergency Assistance, Campership and Scholarship. More information is available on the website (www.p2pHelps.org) or by calling (203) 655-0048.

Newman’s Own Foundation has been a consistent supporter of P2P programs and services designed to accomplish that mission.

Newman’s Own Foundation is an independent, private foundation formed in 2005 by Paul Newman to sustain the legacy of his philanthropic work.

Funded entirely through the profits and royalties of Newman’s Own products, the Foundation does not maintain an endowment, raise funds, or accept donations.

Since 1982, when Paul Newman first declared, “Let’s give it all away,” more than $400 million has been donated to thousands of nonprofit organizations helping people in need around the world.
