All for the love of Christmas.
"It sounds corny to say, but I love everything about Christmas," said the Greenwich firefighter. "I'm a kid at heart."
Pampena, known as "Tony Christmas," gets so into the decor that he was recently featured on "The Great Christmas Light Fight," an ABC show that has residents across America competing for the most outlandishly decorated home.
Though he didn't win -- the show aired Monday, Dec. 12 -- Pampena doesn't mind. "It's never been about money," he said. Instead, it's a labor of love. In fact, he has been doing it for 31 years, each year adding something new.
Ever since 9/11 -- he was at Ground Zero that fateful day -- he added a flag and colorful USA sign to his roof.
The home, at 68 Lewelyn Road, is open until Sunday, Jan. 7, from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. with Pampena often out front greeting guests. Visitors are invited to park their cars and walk around to the back for a complete view of the entire display.
