Volunteers from Sacred Heart University will be doing just that Oct. 2 — and for a good cause.

SHU’s Office of Volunteer Programs and Service Learning is sponsoring a golf marathon to support Hall Neighborhood House Monday at the Innis Arden Golf Club in Greenwich.

Golfers will try to complete at a whopping 100 holes between sunrise and sunset.

The event will raise funds for the children and families served by Hall Neighborhood House (HNH) and the SHU students engaged in service learning programs at the Bridgeport-based organization.

HNH has been serving low-income families from Bridgeport’s East Side for more than 130 years, offering programs for children and adults from about 400 families a day.

The organization is expanding its after school programming to help combat youth violence, drugs and gangs. Offerings include robot building, STEM events, cooking and physical fitness.

Those who wish to support the golf marathon may pledge a flat donation or place a dollar amount on each hole. To donate or learn more, visit www.hnhonline.org.
