This unique event is the chance for Darien EMS- Post 53 members to mix and mingle with the community that they are trained to serve, while attendees can enjoy an atmosphere of holiday cheer and abundance, according to a release from Nielsen’s Florist.

It is a pre-season cocktail party, showcasing holiday table arrangements and introducing Nielsen’s 2016 Christmas collection.

Whether guests would like to start an ornament collection, view the vignettes or just come to support Post 53,  they are sure to enjoy the festivities and delicious hors d’oeuvres, the release said.

“We love to kick off the holiday season by hosting this event and working closely with Post 53 to raise as much money as possible," said Sandy Nielsen, Nielsen's general manager.

Nancy Herling, who recently became director of Darien EMS-Post 53, is hoping the event will raise awareness and needed funds for the organization.

“This event is a fun way to start your holiday shopping and support an organization that is here for them, in the background all year long," Herling said.

Tickets are $15 if purchased pre-event from a Post 53 member or purchased early at Nielsen’s Florist.

Ticket proceeds and 10 percent of the evening’s sales will benefit Darien EMS-Post 53.

Founded in 1970, Post 53 provides emergency medical services to the Darien community at the highest level of excellence, using Darien High School students and adult volunteers.

The members of Post 53 are committed to achieving and maintaining the highest level of training and skill in providing pre-hospital care and transport to the citizens of Darien.
