"I love living in town," he said. "It’s home, and a great place to raise a family, so when I learned about the Greenwich International Film Festival (GIFF), it felt like my two worlds were coming together."
He was also thrilled to have a project he produced, the feature film, "I Smile Back" which stars Sarah Silverman, Josh Charles, Tommy Sadoski and Terry Kinney.
The movie will be shown at Bow Tie Cinemas in Greenwich on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.
"Sarah gives an utterly knock-out performance, and the entire cast is so strong," said Levien. "The film sold to Broad Green out of Sundance and will be released in theaters this fall, but the screenings at GIFF will be the first time it has been shown on the East Coast ahead of release. It's a very powerful piece of material and I’m glad the timing worked out."
Levien, whose credits include "Ocean's 13" (writer), "Knockaround Guys" (writer/director), "The Illusionist" (producer) and "Solitary Man" (director), among others, is also busy creating "Billions" for Showtime, which is filming throughout Manhattan, the boroughs, Long Island and Westchester.
It stars Damian Lewis as a hedge fund manager and Paul Giamatti as a U.S. attorney. "It's about two titans engaged in an epic battle, so the story has somewhat local roots," he said.
