Letter: Darien's First Selectman Reflects On 'Hands For Life'

To The Editor:

More than 900 of our community joined us on Sunday, September 29th at the Darien YMCA for Hands For Life Darien, a day of hands-only CPR and AED training – a chance to learn vital, life-saving skills in just 15 minutes.

We were thrilled at the response, with so many people taking time out of their day to learn skills that could help a family member, a neighbor or a stranger in an emergency. It’s truly inspiring to be part of a community that, as our friend Scott Pelley pointed out, supports positive, innovative solutions where neighbors are willing to help their neighbors. And it was energizing to watch the Post Members who proved to be excellent, engaging, and enthusiastic teachers to young and old alike. Thank you to the YMCA for providing the perfect venue, and thank you to all in our community who took the time to get trained.

Sincerely,

Jayme Stevenson First Selectman
