DARIEN, Conn. The following letter to the editor was written by Darien resident Nina Miller, Pre-K Director at the Darien Nature Center.
My husband Dave and I got to know John Lundeen and his family years ago when our boys were in Boy Scout Troop 53 together. A more conscientious and caring individual is hard to imagine. When John comes up with an idea, he follows through. When he volunteers his time, he puts his all into the effort, from beginning to end. Perhaps most important for the position of First Selectman, John is a pleasure to work with. Our son Coleman adds this:
"I got to know Mr. Lundeen very well as a boy scout with his sons Berent and Anders. We went on a week-long camping trip in the Adirondacks that he chaperoned. What I remember most about Mr. Lundeen from those days was his facility for leadership and his concern for those around him. I was definitely glad to have him guiding us on that voyage. He can also shred a mean 12-string guitar!"
