DARIEN, Conn. — The art of L.D. D’Isernia is on display in the Darien Library’s art gallery through Jan. 17.

D’Isernia is a native of Rye, N.Y., who specializes in oil paintings. She was initially inspired by her great-grandfather, an accomplished oil painter in New York City. She graduated from SUNY-Purchase and studies with her mentor, Laurel Stern Boeck, an accomplished congressional oil painter.

D’Isernia works out of her studio, “Little Squab” in Darien, where she collaborates with decorators and accepts commissioned paintings for clients. She has also shown her work in Bedford, N.Y., Palm Beach, Fla., and Greenwich.
