DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Arts Center is offering a new Musical Theatre Ensemble for kids this fall.
The class, which begins Oct. 17, is open to fourth-graders through eighth-graders, according to a press release. Theatre Director Maggie Pangrazio said in the release that she is "excited about using her talents" for the class.
“I am very excited to get started with The Musical Theatre Ensemble this fall," Pangrazio said in the release. "It will culminate into a toe-tapping performance featuring Broadway hits that span the years and it will be as much fun for the audience as the kids performing."
The final performance, “Time Travelin’ Teens!" will take place Jan. 18 and is "based on a science experiment that goes very wrong; sending the students of Remedial Science 101 on a music filled adventure through time," according to the release.
Pangrazio’s enthusiasm, "founded on her love of musical theatre and working with children, is anchored by her extensive theatrical background, which has allowed Pangrazio to continually nurture her 'forte,'" representatives said in the release.
Pangrazio recently was involved in several local theatre productions and directed a production of “Dracula” for the Bridgeport Theatre Company, according to the release.
The Musical Theatre Ensemble will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 17 through Jan. 18, according to the release. To register for the Musical Theatre Ensemble, or for more information, visit the Darien Arts Center website or call 203-655-8683.
