DARIEN, Conn. -- Weekend One-Acts are coming back to the Darien Library this month.
A theatrical weekend featuring free performances of one-act plays starts at 7 p.m. Friday and continues at 2 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the library. The program includes David Ives’ 1988 play “Sure Thing,” Mira Gibson’s 2013 play “Old Flame,” and Elaine May’s 1995 play “Hotline,” according to the release. A reception will follow the Friday performance.
"David Ives’ 'Sure Thing' features a comedic meeting of two characters, Betty and Bill. Mira Gibson’s 'Old Flame' tells the story of a woman running into her ex-boyfriend in a grocery store. Elaine May’s 'Hotline' is a dark comedy about a neurotic woman who calls a suicide crisis hotline late one night," representatives said in the release.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to performance time and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to the release.
