Proceeds from “Spring Fling: March Madras,” which took place on March 28 at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, will go directly to support Person-to-Person’s efforts in serving 24,000 individuals in need from neighboring communities.

Guests were encouraged to come dressed in colorful madras or other preppy-chic attire while they enjoyed signature March Madras cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, a gourmet sit-down dinner and live music by the Booga Sugar band.

In addition to the many silent auction packages, highlights included a live auction with renowned auctioneer CK Swett, golf and basketball contests, a raffle and a speech by former Opus scholarship winner Steven Jean Paul. Lucky party guests walked away with auction prizes that included a California Wine Country getaway, catered clambake for 50, bowling party and a Mexican villa vacation.

“The spring gala is always a special, one-of-a-kind experience and this year was no exception,” said Elizabeth Hole, co-president of Opus for Person-to-Person. “Because of the hardworking committee, generous sponsors and the community’s involvement, Spring Fling: March Madras helped raise over $130,000 for Person-to-Person.”
