DARIEN, Conn. A digital cable box was taken off the porch of a West Avenue house Saturday. The box, worth $219, had been delivered by UPS the previous day. The owner checked the delivery status of the box and found that it had been delivered, but it was not on his porch. Police said no similar delivery thefts have been reported.

A car was vandalized at 330 Heights Road on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The owner parked the car at 11 a.m. and returned at 6 p.m. to find that the rear windshield had been smashed with an unknown object. No items were taken from the car, and the cost to repair the damage was unknown.
Ivan Benavides, 34, of Fairfield, was arrested Thursday while driving a car with a stolen license plate. Police spotted Benavides on the Post Road near the Interstate 95 southbound entrance at Exit 13. When checking the registration, it was determined the plate matched one that had been stolen in Fairfield in October.
Benavides was pulled over on I-95 near Exit 10. He said his friend let him use the plate. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, misuse of marker and driving an unregistered vehicle. He posted $240 bond and will go to court Dec. 29.
