Chemicals In Pizza Boxes, Cell Phones Pose Risk, Scientists Say

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Hundreds of scientists are lobbying for communities throughout the world, including Fairfield County, to limit the use of potentially dangerous chemicals that are found in many pizza boxes and cellphones, Yahoo! Health reported.

The chemicals are also found in backpacks, shoes, some hospital equipment, and sleeping bags, Yahoo! Health reported.

Not every expert agrees with the group of scientists touting the dangers of PFASs – the American Chemistry Council’s position is that the chemicals are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and therefore are safe, according to Yahoo! Health.
