  • Alex Ostberg, a Darien High School senior won the national championship in a 5-kilometer race in June, announced he will continue his running career at Stanford University.
  • A Norwalk man, Louis Criollo, 45, was arrested on drunken driving charges outside the Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival in Darien after he was found to be at more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
  • Barbara Oddo-Del Gatto, a Darien resident, died at age of 61.
  • Twelve towns from Fairfield County were named to SafeWise's list of safest communities in Connecticut. 
  • Students at Holmes School in Darien participated in the "Let's Move" walk-a-thon sponsored by the Holmes School PTO.
