Crews were still in the process Wednesday night of assessing the damage to the feeder line, according to a video statement released by Con Edison.
The power outage has caused massive interruptions in train service on the New Haven Line, creating headaches for commuters. Metro-North set up limited service using diesel-fueled trains but won't be able to offer full service until electricity is restored.
Crews will be working 24 hours a day until power is restored, Con Ed said.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy has said the repair work could take two to three weeks.
