The parcel of land will provide a linkage to a trails system and provide a scenic view of Stony Brook.
The grant is part of $5.9 million in federal funds to assist communities in purchase, maintenance, and restoration of public space.
“Preserving the best of Connecticut’s open space is critical to protecting our land, water, and wildlife and ensuring Connecticut maintains its natural beauty," Malloy said.
