Darien Community Fund Donates $25K To Domestic Violence Crisis Center

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Stamford-based Domestic Violence Crisis Center recently received a $25,000 grant from the Darien Community Fund.

The grant will help the center continue its PeaceWorks education programs in local schools as well as support court and legal services in the Stamford and Norwalk courts.

“The Community Fund of Darien has long demonstrated a clear understanding of how vital both direct domestic violence services and violence-prevention education are to our communities, and we are grateful for its continued support,” Rachelle Kucera Mehra, DVCC’s executive director, said in a statement. “Our court services were critical for the more than 1,500 people, including 86 Darien residents, who sought legal assistance and information last year."

The Domestic Violence Crisis Center is committed to promoting the fundamental right of all individuals to be safe in their personal relationships.

The agency offers confidential services at no charge, including: court and legal services; group and individual counseling; SafeHouses and housing services; children’s services; medical advocacy; professional adult trainings and multilingual services.
