Wreaths Across America sponsorships will be solicited at $15 per wreath on two consecutive Saturdays, Oct. 8 and 15, in front of Palmer's Market in Darien.

Sponsorships will also be sold at Darien Doughnut from 8-11 a.m. and Goodwives Stop and Shop from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 22.

Additional wreath sponsorship collections are scheduled for Goodwives Stop and Shop from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.

The public is encouraged to purchase sponsorships and participate in the wreath dedication ceremony to be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 17, at Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery.

Last year, an anonymous donor’s generosity helped provide a wreath for every grave in the cemetery.

Members of Darien’s Monuments and Ceremonies Commission, under the direction of Chairman Phil Kraft, have organized the 2016 wreath sponsorship collection.

Monuments and Ceremonies Commission members will join with several Darien civic groups, including members of Good Wife’s River DAR Chapter, the Masonic Club of Darien and Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge and others, to collect wreaths sponsorships.

Many Darien businesses also donate.
