Darien Fireworks Band Forms For Third Season

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Fireworks Band is forming for its third season, with rehearsals beginning Tuesday, June 3.

Under the direction of Darien High School Orchestra conductor Jane Minnis, the Darien Fireworks Band will "provide instrumentalists an opportunity to get together and make beautiful music," according to a press release. Rehearsals for the band will start at 7 p.m. June 3, 10, 17, 24 and July 1 at Darien High School. The cost to join is $75. The band will play before the Darien fireworks on Saturday, July 5.

"Dig out your old instrument and play with us," representatives said. "All players, regardless of skill level or instrument, are encouraged to join. You do not need to be a resident of Darien to participate in the band."
