DARIEN, Conn. – Darien kids will get a chance to ride Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Lucy the Polar Bear this Saturday when the annual Holiday Magic event returns to town.

The holiday celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. in the Grove Street Plaza with free rides on the two mechanical animals, which are being provided by the Darien Toy Box. There will also be live music, candy canes, and hot chocolate served by the Girl Scouts.

At 5 p.m. the big man, Santa Claus himself, will be coming down the chimney and popping out of the fireplace to spread holiday cheer to all the girls and boys.

The event is hosted each year by the Darien Chamber of Commerce to help promote local shopping during the holidays. It is sponsored by the Chamber, Baywater Properties, the Darien Toy Box, the Community Fund of Darien, Grove Street Properties and the Darien Girl Scouts.
