Darien High Grad, Navy Flight Instructor Killed In Plane Crash In Florida

DARIEN, Conn. — A 32-year-old Darien High graduate who is a Navy flight instructor died in the crash of a private plane in Florida, according to multiple media reports.

The Darien Times said Jamie Swiggart, Darien High Class of 2002, was killed in the crash Thursday night as the plane crashed in Madison County as it was headed from Ocala to the Tallahassee International Airport crashed in Madison County.

Passenger Maitland Jane Harvey was also killed, according to ABC affiliate WXTL.

Darien state Rep. Terrie Wood told the Times that Swiggart was an Annapolis graduate and Navy flight instructor.
