DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Library is hosting two Medicare information presentations this month.
Maura Carley, author of "Health Insurance: Navigating Traps and Gaps," is set to give a presentation titled “Medicare: What You Should Know” at 7 p.m. Thursday and an encore presentation at 10 a.m. Oct. 29.
"As Medicare approaches its 50th birthday, those on Medicare or soon to go on Medicare should understand how the program has changed and what the near future may bring," the release said. "Medicare has become more complicated but also more costly. More doctors are deciding to opt out of Medicare altogether.
"All Americans, especially those considering working beyond age 65, need to understand Medicare’s complex enrollment rules, how to avoid life-time premium penalties and how income-indexing of premiums works."
The Darien Library is located at 1441 Post Road in Darien. For more information, call 203-655-1234.
