DARIEN, Conn. A Darien father and his 21-year-old son were involved in a domestic violence dispute Thursday, July 14, that led to the son's arrest. The two started arguing in the morning, and the son started damaging items around the house. The father tried to restrain his son but couldn't control him. A younger brother ran upstairs to call 911. The older son tried to stop him, but he broke free and called police. The son was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call. He was released on a promise to appear in court the next day.

Jewelry was stolen out of a car at Splash Car Wash on July 10. The owner took his car for a wash and had a jewelry box in the glove compartment containing a white cross with diamonds. He waited inside the building while the car was washed. When he got home, he discovered that the $560 cross was missing from the box.
A safety fence was vandalized two nights in a row at a house on Nearwater Lane on July 12 and 13. The homeowners reported on July 13 that when they went outside the fence had been moved and damaged, and a mailbox had been knocked off its post.
