DARIEN, Conn. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Darien last week:
- A 48-year-old Darien man, William Parsley, was arrested, after police said he beat up a 21-year-old Fairfield man who was hitting on his wife.
- The northbound Merritt Parkway and northbound Hutchinson River Parkway on the Connecticut-New York border reopened after being closed for nearly eight hours after a tractor-trailer truck slammed into a bridge and caught fire.
- Darien couple Jeff and Jennifer Schleppy will run the New York City Marathon for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, based in Norwalk.
- Oliva Cevallos, 20, of the Bronx and Richard Gordon, 19, of Dolton, Ill., were each charged with using counterfeit $100 bills at multiple locations in Darien.
