DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien senior citizens and disabled residents who rent may be eligible for rebates based upon their income.
Residents must have lived in Connecticut for at least one year, receive Social Security disability or be 65 years old as of Dec. 31, 2013.
Applicants must also have a reported income of no more than $34,100 for an individual and $41,600 for a married couple.
All income including Social Security (Social Security Form SSA-1099) must be reported and documented. This includes, but not limited to: Pensions, interest on bank accounts, dividends and wages. If a 2013 Federal Income Tax Return was filed, a copy is required.
Applicants must also provide proof of rent and utility payments for all months they were renting.
