Darien Residents Review Early Plans For Weed Beach Expansion

DARIEN, Conn. -- Town officials recently gave Darien residents a peek at four potential designs for the expansion of Weed Beach, two of which include a pool, something Daren residents have been wanting for years, according to the Darien Times.

The "early" concept plans offer a variety of options for the 6-acre parcel that runs adjacent to the existing park. The concepts share some similarities that reflect the desire for mixed use expressed by residents in an earlier town survey, according to the Darien Times.

Features included a boathouse and sailing center, new walkways and boardwalks, covered areas for picnics and special events, and additional parking spaces, said the Darien Times.
