Darien Road Race Will Delay Traffic

DARIEN, Conn. – The annual Darien Road Race is this Sunday and police are warning drivers to expect traffic delays. Approximately 500 racers will be participating in the event. The race will start at 1 p.m. at Pear Tree Point Beach and proceed to Long Neck Point Road, Ring's End Road, Harbor Road, then eastbound on the Post Road. From there the runners will travel down Old Kings Highway South to Andrews Drive, Red Coat Pass, Tory Hole Road, Sunswyck Road, Goodwives River Road and back to Pear Tree Point Beach.

There will be short-term delays and some detours along the race route. Darien police officers will be positioned on the route to help facilitate the flow of traffic and the safety of the runners.
