The Person-to-Person scholarship program committee selects area college students for the awards each year; each student receives at least $1,000 to defray the costs of educational expenses such as tuition and books.

“Thanks to the generosity of Oracle, up to 20 college students from low-income households will receive a P2P scholarship, many of whom wouldn’t be able to pursue their dream of a college education without this financial assistance,” said P2P Scholarship Program Manager Danielle Jean-Guillaume Sittol in a press release.

Eighty percent of P2P scholarship recipients ultimately graduate college.

“Oracle’s philanthropy focuses on increasing opportunity, protecting the environment, advancing education, and enriching community life,” Oracle Corporate Citizenship Senior Director Colleen Cassity said in a press release.

“Person-to-Person is emblematic of our corporate values and we, along with the community of Oracle volunteers in our Stamford office, are delighted to support P2P.”
