DARIEN, Conn. -- Senior citizens may be eligible for tax credits, according to Darien Assessor Anthony Homicki.
The real estate property tax credit may come under the circuit breaker state program, town program or elderly tax deferral.
Any homeowner 65 and older reaching the income limits is encouraged to come to the assessor's office and apply by May 16.
Income must not exceed $51,900 for married couples or $44,200 for single people to be eligible.
All income must be reported, including Social Security, and documentation of proof is needed.
